Can you contact your credit cards and ask for a better interest rate?

Cookie On My Mind asked:

We’ve been paying our bills on time for the past few months and have raised our credit score a great deal. Can I call the cards that have a high interest rate and see if they can lower them? Or will they not do that? Thanks.

Is it better to have thousands dollars of debt in student loans or on a credit card?

NELA asked:

I accepted a greater amount of a loan that I actually needed for school to pay off my credit card balance which was near the limit. Was that a smart thing to do? or not?
It was the Stafford loan if that makes a difference.

Where can I find a list of companies/ lenders that offer loans to people w/ bad credit?

Shaneka D asked:

I have Googled, I have ASKed, I have called. I had no luck. I am looking for companies that offer loans to people (like me) with bad credit. Please do not send refferal service which charges fees and provides no loan results. I’ve already been scammed. I prefer direct lenders/companies. All feedback is appreciate it. Please do not answer the question, if you do not know the answer. Thank you!

Consolidate private student loans on lower interest credit card?

curious126 asked:

Here’s the situation: I have about $30,000 (of $114,000 total) in 3 student loans at 7.5% (variable rate). These loans are private and that’s why I could not consolidate them. I have a balance transfer offer for 4.99% until paid off on one of my credit cards and am tempted to transfer as much of the 30,000 as i can to that card. I don’t use this particular credit card for anything else, so this would be the only balance on this card My concern is that this will show up as consumer debt on my credit report as opposed to education debt. Anyone know what kind of impact this will have on my credit score? Worth the saved money in interest and consolidated payment? Any other advice or commentary?

Anyone know of a lender who gives loans to people with bad credit?

babyfrogdaddy asked:

I’m trying to pay off some debts and get a better credit rating. I’ve been contacted several times by a Wilmer Financial Group who says I can get a loan if I pay them some money up front. I know they’re a scam, but to people with bad or no credit they sound like a good deal.

Yahoo Answerer asked:

I want to make a new years resolution to pay off my credit cards, and I want to close them out to make sure I don’t get tempted to use them. Will that look bad on my credit score if I close them out, when they still have a balance? Also, do they carge extra for doing that? Thanks for ANY advice on this!

How many Credit Cards should I have open at one time?

Zoxx asked:

Right now I have 10 Credit accounts open. Ranges from $424.00 to $5200.00 with a credit score of 728.

I have $0 balance all of my cards at this time.

I just applied to get a motorcycle and they denied me saying that I have too much revolved credit open.

I rent a apt due to the high housing prices. I have yet been able to afford a house due to those circumstances.

I have a couple questions that I hope can be answered.

1. How many Cards should I have open at one time?

2. I have heard having allot of closed accounts on your credit report looks bad. T or F (Explanation Please)

3. I have heard that you should always keep a small balance on all your cards. T or F (Explanation Please)

4. Should I try and get an outside loan from a banker or lender to get a lower APR than what they are offering at the dealership?

5. Any other useful tips to help keep my credit score on the rise without accruing allot of debt?

Thanks Allot.
